Alstom Sizhou Electric Power Equipment (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. is a wholly foreign owned enterprise formed in April 2007 by cooperation between Alstom and former Qingdao Sizhou Electric Power Equipment Co., Ltd. Alstom, a Fortune 500 company, sets the benchmark for innovative, environmentally friendly technologies in the world of power and rail transport infrastructure. Alstom provides turnkey integrated power plant solutions and associated services for a wide variety of energy sources, including hydro, gas, coal and nuclear. Qingdao Sizhou, specialized in producing bottom ash, fly ash and coal handling equipment, wind power components and pressure vessels, had established a strong reputation in both the Chinese and overseas markets. The synergy brought by the cooperation will make Alstom Sizhou more competitive in respect of technology, production, sales and customer service.
The Company facility covers an area of 180,000 square meters, near Qingdao (22km to Qingdao Airport and 30km to Qingdao Port) and has a 130,000 square meter production area. The Company employs 1200 employees including 170 technicians and engineers. It holds a range of product patents, and has been granted “Shandong Star Corporation of China patent” and “High and New Technology Enterprise” for many years in succession. Sizhou was the first company of its kind in China to get ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 Certificates. The Company applies advanced production and testing equipment during manufacturing and quality control.
Alstom Sizhou designs and manufactures slag-handling systems, dry and wet boiler bottom ash-handling systems, coal feeding systems, ESP fly ash conveying systems and water treatment systems and solutions and is certified to design and manufacture pressure vessels up to 100 bar. The company also supplies wind towers for the wind power industry.
The new cooperation between Alstom and Sizhou will strengthen the company further. Using Alstom’s global platform, Alstom Sizhou will extend its product and service portfolio into areas such as boiler and environmental products.
Sizhou’s products have won more and more customers due to superior quality and project specific designs. At present, there are more than 500 Chinese customers using Alstom Sizhou’s products. The products are also exported to foreign markets such as the US, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Philippines, Egypt, Bangladesh, etc.
